ALERTHAWK is an Oracle database monitor. It checks all the databases it finds on the local server and, when unexpected events occur, sends an e-mail to your preset distribution list. ALERTHAWK regularly checks the Oracle processes and the alert log files.

Every time the size of the alert log file increases, the new information is scanned. If any error message is identified, any relevant information (possible cause and suggested action) is extracted from the Oracle message files and e-mailed with the error log to the specified distribution list
