Activity Tracker is a real-time activity monitor with playback that identifies problems and provides advance notification to your customer service staff. The software helps to focus on specific causes and assists with analysis and resolution.
Activity Tracker provides real-time information about data warehouse or data mart activity including:
who is using the warehouse or mart
what queries are running
how long have they been running
how much data is being returned
Continuous Monitoring and Playback
Activity Tracker is non-intrusive so it can be used on-demand or can be left running all the time. You can monitor activity in real-time or use the playback feature to review recent activity. Activity Tracker allows you to monitor over 50 different aspects of mart or warehouse activity. You can:
select which marts or warehouses to monitor
select which activities to monitor
summarize activities
sort activities
display information as tables or graphs
sets alerts and alarms for critical thresholds
Configurable Display
The information that Activity Tracker gathers is displayed on the Activity Tracker Console. This colorful, interactive display is highly configurable. It can display any of the monitored activities in a variety of graphical formats. You can display multiple data sets at one time or each one independently. You can also configure thresholds and alarms with colors and sounds. In addition, each data set can be output to a logfile for easy reference.
Configuring the Console is accomplished easily through Activity Tracker. You can also reconfigure a display on-the fly, without losing any activity data. Templates for commonly used configuration settings can be conveniently saved, shared and reused.
Advance Notification of Problems
Activity Tracker can identify and provide advance notification of problems such as slow warehouse performance before users know there is a problem. But if there is a problem, Activity Tracker puts the status of data warehouse activity at the support staffs fingertips, helping them to focus quickly on and analyze the specific problem. Its shareable templates also allow for clearer communication between the help desk and the data warehouse support staff for quicker resolution to end user problems.
