CDB/Quiesce has solved these
problems by not placing objects into UTRO status and not
causing –911’s. Through the use of simple control cards,
QUIESCE may be constrained to whatever time you allow with
as many re-tries as you need. For example, if your SQL timeout
is 60, you may want to only allow 30 seconds for a QUIESCE.
If the CDB/QUIESCE cannot
be obtained in the 30 seconds allowed, it will be re-tried
the specified number of times. This way, the CDB/Quiesce
utility leaves the object in ReadWrite. At no point is the
object put into the UTRO status. The CDB/Quiesce utility
eliminates –911’s, -913’s and –904’s that are associated
with the IBM QUIESCE utility.
