IMS Online Reorganization Facility
|
IBM IMS Online Reorganization Facility enables IMS users to reorganize full function and HALDB databases with an outage in seconds rather than minutes or hours. Databases are reorganized to shadow data sets and any changes during this period are captured and applied to the reorganized shadow data sets.
The shadow data sets then become the reorganized database data sets. With the IMS Online Reorganization Facility, IMS users can schedule when they want their online databases reorganized by predefining the online reorganization window.
Enables reorganization of IMS full function databases with an outage in seconds (a period of time called takeover time).
Reorganizes databases to shadow data sets, captures the changes during this period, and applies them to the reorganized shadow data sets.
Requires databases and their data sets to be registered to DBRC Reorganizes HISAM, HIDAM, HDAM, and SHISAM databases and recreates associated index data sets.
