OnDemand Web Enablement Kit
(ODWEK) is an optional software feature for all OnDemand
platforms. It lets users access data stored in an OnDemand
system with an industry-standard Web browser. Users may
search through the archived folders and applications and
select documents or sections of reports for browser viewing
(using Netscape Navigator or Internet Explorer).
The WEK ships separately
with its own media and document pack. It contains three
basic components.* Software that runs on a Web server and
uses standard OnDemand interfaces to access data stored
in an OnDemand server. Applets and plug-ins that are used
to view documents with a Web browser. The WEK includes AFP,
image, and line data viewers. Separately-priced conversion
programs convert documents that are stored in OnDemand into
files that can be viewed with a Web browser.
For example, you can configure
the WEK to retrieve Metacode documents from OnDemand, call
the Xenos transform to convert the Metacode documents to
PDF files, and send the PDF files to the Web browser. *This
is supported for OnDemand for Multiplatforms and OnDemand
for z/OS.
