|
The DB2 log contains vast amounts of data. When you only need data pertaining to a small number of objects, reading the entire DB2 log is inefficient and uses up valuable resources.
DB2 Change Accumulation Tool enables you to extract portions of the DB2 log that pertain only to objects of interest.
DB2 Change Accumulation Tool can create data sets, or mini logs, that contain DB2 log information for a specific table space (or table spaces). Mini logs are stored in a Change Accumulation Tool-maintained database and during recovery scenarios, can be used instead of the entire DB2 log. Thus it supports proactive recovery planning by enabling you to collect and store backup information about the objects that most interest you, thus reducing the time needed to recover those objects.

Enables you to recover objects of interest quickly and precisely.
Produces SHRLEVEL REFERENCE image copies without the associated overhead and data locking.
Produces mini logs that contain backup information about objects of interest, thus enabling fast, efficient recovery.
Supports the creation of multiple image copies so you have the information you need for both local site and recovery site DB2 start modes.
Reduces the amount of log records and archive log files needed for processing by supporting SYSLGRNX.
